Opuntia microdasys var. albispina (Pot Size 5cm) Bunny ear cactus sold by Boma Garden Centre

An obvious choice for a hot sunny windowsill of course would be a cactus- Opuntia microdasys is a sound choice. Covered in white areoles, it is able to tolerate intense sunlight as it reflects some rays away from the leaf surface, keeping it safe from scorching. Being a juicy fleshy cactus, its also very drought tolerant so can almost be forgotten about between waterings. If all care requirements are met the bunny ear cactus produces beautiful pale yellow blooms that only add to its beauty. Beware though, although this plant screams ‘TOUCH ME’ you’ll soon regret it as its tiny glochids are just as unpleasant as large garish spines!
