Ficus microcarpa ‘Ginseng’ makes a fantastic bonsai tree, with its thick gnarled trunk, stunted in growth and swollen looking, everyone is different in shape.Ficus ‘Ginseng’ is a stunning plant with small green leaves, lush and shiny in appearance. In summer months they can be quite thirsty but in winter, depending on how warm the environment is it’s best to leave them on the dryer side, however remember that this stunted plant has a mass of roots in a tiny pot so can be very thirsty. It’s important to keep a happy medium between moist and dry soil as if too wet or too dry your bonsai Ficus can suffer.
