Bergenia crassifolia 'Overture' (Pot Size 2L) Elephant's ears sold by Boma Garden Centre

Bergenia ‘Overture’ is a striking evergreen perennial prized for its large glossy green leaves that turn a rich claret-purple in winter, making it one of the most reliable bergenia cultivars for seasonal foliage colour. Magenta-red flowers emerge on scarlet stems in mid-spring, held well above the foliage and long-lasting, making excellent cut flowers.Plant in sun or partial shade in humus-rich, well-drained soil. Bergenia is remarkably adaptable to poor soils and tolerates both wet and dry conditions once established, though it prefers moist but well-drained situations. Remove faded flower spikes and any winter-damaged leaves in spring to tidy the plant. This easy-to-grow perennial is excellent for pollinators and bees, adding valuable early-season nectar. Award of Garden Merit winner.
