Acer × conspicuum 'Red Flamingo' (Pot Size 38cm) Red Flamingo snakebark maple sold by Boma Garden Centre

Acer ‘Red Flamingo’ is a striking snakebark maple prized for its ornamental bark and variegated foliage. In spring, emerging leaves display vibrant pink variegation on green, gradually maturing through the season to a sophisticated mix of dark green, pink and white tones. The real winter star is its distinctive white-striped red bark, which offers three-season interest as the colourful stems mature into branches with elegant white snakebark markings.A slow-growing deciduous shrub or small tree, it reaches approximately 6 metres tall and wide over 10-20 years. Plant in full sun or partial shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Best colour and form emerge in partial shade with shelter from cold, drying winds. Minimal pruning required; maintain the framework as it matures. This fully hardy H5 cultivar thrives in most UK locations even during severe winters.
