Acer palmatum 'Sumi-Nagashi' (Pot Size 24cm) Japanese Maple sold by Boma Garden Centre

Acer palmatum ‘Sumi-Nagashi’ is a small ornamental tree prized for its exceptional foliage. The deeply lobed palmate leaves emerge bright purple-red in spring, gradually deepen to a striking deep maroon-red through summer, and finally transform to brilliant red in autumn, providing year-round visual interest. This fast-growing cultivar reaches 2.5-4 metres tall and wide, developing a vase-shaped form when young before gradually broadening with age. It thrives in moist, well-drained, acid soil in partial shade, though full sun is tolerated. Hardy throughout the UK, the tree requires minimal pruning-an ideal specimen tree for larger gardens, architectural planting schemes, or Japanese-style garden designs.
