Tagetes patula is a compact, bushy tender annual with aromatic, finely-divided green foliage. The bright yellow flowers appear in profusion from early summer through to the first autumn frosts. This tender annual is grown as summer bedding in the UK, offering excellent colour to borders, containers and window boxes. The plant is easy to grow and low maintenance, thriving in full sun in any moderately fertile, well-drained soil. The flowers attract bees and beneficial insects. Compact and mound-forming, reaching around 30cm tall and wide, it is ideal for edging borders or filling summer planting schemes. The foliage is lightly aromatic and pest and disease-free.
