Skimmia japonica ‘Double Diamond’ is a specially created duo, bringing together two popular male skimmias — usually ‘Rubella’ with its deep red flower buds and ‘Finchy’ with pale green buds. Planted together in one pot, they give a dramatic two-tone effect through autumn and winter, lighting up shaded corners and patios when many plants are dormant.This neat evergreen shrub has glossy, dark green leaves that provide structure year-round. In spring, the buds open into clusters of lightly scented white flowers, offering seasonal interest and attracting early pollinators.
