Schlumbergera x buckleyi (Pot Size 13cm) Christmas Cactus sold by Boma Garden Centre

This popular tropical houseplant is an epiphytic cactus with cascading green stems that remain attractive throughout the year. It’s renowned for winter flowers in shades of red and pink that emerge at stem tips each December, typically lasting several weeks. The plant features flat, spineless green segments with rounded scalloped edges, making it ideal for hanging baskets or shelves where the stems flow gracefully downward.Native to Brazil’s humid rainforests, Schlumbergera thrives indoors with bright, indirect light and moderate humidity – quite different from desert cacti. It prefers moist but well-drained soil and benefits from regular misting. Unlike many cacti, it has no sharp spines, and the ASPCA confirms it is completely non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a safe choice for any home.Remarkably easy to care for, it rewards minimal attention with reliable winter blooms year after year. An RHS Award of Garden Merit holder, it’s a beloved houseplant proven to perform consistently.
