This striking coneflower (black-eyed Susan) produces masses of semi-double golden-yellow flowers with a bold chocolate-brown centre, flowering prolifically from mid-summer through to the first frosts.A biennial or short-lived perennial best grown as an annual, it reaches approximately 50cm in height. The nectar-rich blooms attract bees and butterflies, making it excellent for wildlife-friendly gardens. Plant in full sun or partial shade in moderately fertile, well-drained soil that remains moist but not waterlogged. Deadhead regularly to encourage continuous flowering throughout the season. The sturdy stems make it useful for cutting and long-lasting in the vase.
