Pennisetum setaceum ‘Fireworks’ is a spectacular variegated tender ornamental grass. The striking foliage displays rich burgundy-red centres with hot pink margins, sometimes with white and green striping, creating an explosion of colour especially vibrant in full sunlight. From midsummer through autumn, soft burgundy flower plumes rise gracefully above the foliage on arching stems, providing elegant movement and texture. Treat as an annual summer bedding plant or grow in containers to bring indoors for winter protection. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil – waterlogging causes rot. A patented cultivar that doesn’t produce viable seed, easy to grow with minimal care once established.
