Medinilla magnifica (Pot Size 17cm) Rose grape / Pink lantern plant sold by Boma Garden Centre

Medinilla is an incredible genus of plants. With their striking pendulous flowers and overall exotic appearance, it is a treat to have M.magnifica as a houseplant here in the UK. Native to the Philippine Islands, they require sufficient humidity and warm temperatures to flourish truly. This Medinilla prefers a bright spot (not direct sunlight) that allows room for its large blooms to unfurl fully, making it the perfect hanging plant. The flowers of the rose grape will eventually go over and start to turn brown. When this happens, snip them off at the base of the flower stalk (where it’s attached to the leaf) to encourage reflowering.
