Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead' (Pot Size 13cm) English Lavender sold by Boma Garden Centre
Munstead is one of the most popular compact English lavenders. It produces dense spikes of purple-blue flowers from mid-summer onwards, flowering about two weeks earlier than many other varieties. The narrow grey-green foliage is wonderfully aromatic. Plant in full sun and well-drained soil-Munstead is extremely drought-tolerant once established and dislikes waterlogging. It thrives in poor soils and actually grows better when not heavily fed. This shrub reaches about 45cm tall and spreads to 1 metre, making it perfect for small gardens, borders and containers. The flowers are excellent for cutting and drying. Deadhead regularly to encourage continuous blooming through the season. Prune lightly in late spring after new leaves emerge to maintain a neat shape. Fully hardy to H5, Munstead is loved by bees and butterflies, making it a valuable addition to any pollinator garden.
