This mixed-colour Hibiscus syriacus range brings a late-season spectacle to the garden, its large trumpet-shaped flowers arriving in either soft white flushed with blush pink, or vivid magenta-pink, or rich violet-blue — every bloom marked with a striking dark red to near-black eye radiating from a creamy central stamen column. Flowering begins in midsummer and continues into autumn, exactly when many borders are starting to fade, making it a valuable source of colour late in the season. A sheltered spot in full sun brings out the best flowering.
