Cornus alba 'Kesselringii' (Pot Size 2L) Purple-twig Dogwood sold by Boma Garden Centre

Kesselringii is a striking deciduous shrub grown for its dramatic near-black stems that light up the winter garden. Fresh green leaves emerge in spring, developing deep red-orange tones in autumn before fall. Small cream-coloured flowers appear in late spring, followed by white berries that attract wildlife. The plant reaches 2.5m in height and spread, forming an upright, multi-stemmed display.Vigorous and very hardy throughout the UK, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide range of soils, including wet ground. For best winter stem colour, prune hard to a low framework in early spring before new growth begins. It holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit and the Plants for Pollinators Award.
