Camellia japonica 'Golden Anniversary' (Pot Size 4L) sold by Boma Garden Centre

Camellia japonica ‘Golden Anniversary’ is a slow-growing evergreen shrub producing formal double flowers of pale creamy yellow in mid-spring. The elegant blooms, approximately 7cm across, create a striking display against dark glossy foliage with finely serrated edges. This shrub reaches 4-8 metres over many years but develops slowly, making it perfectly manageable in borders, containers, or woodland gardens. Plant in a sheltered position in partial shade with north or west-facing aspect to protect delicate flowers from early morning sun following frost, which can damage buds. Requires acid soil (pH 7 or below) that is humus-rich, moist and well-draining; avoid lime-based soils. Shelter from cold, dry winds. Once established, it is low-maintenance and makes an excellent specimen, particularly as a golden wedding anniversary gift. Hardy to H5 throughout most UK regions.
