Camellia japonica ‘Bonomiana’ is a refined evergreen shrub offering formal-double blooms of white to pale pink, often elegantly streaked with darker pink.  Each flower can reach up to 10 cm across, forming a rich display in midwinter through early spring.  Its glossy, deep green leaves provide year-round interest and a beautiful backdrop to the delicate blooms.Growing to a moderate size, it is ideal as a focal specimen, in woodland or shady borders, or in containers for a sheltered patio spot.  It pairs beautifully with acid-loving shrubs like rhododendrons, azaleas, camellia sasanqua cultivars, daphnes, and woodland groundcovers such as hellebores or ferns, giving strong contrast in texture and colour.
