Bonsai Carmona retusa (Pot Size 20cm) Fukien Tea Tree sold by Boma Garden Centre

The Carmona retusa, commonly known as the Fukien Tea Bonsai, is one of the most elegant indoor bonsai varieties, admired for its naturally glossy, dark green leaves and textured trunk that gives an instant sense of maturity. Its tiny white flowers appear intermittently throughout the year, adding subtle charm and making it a popular choice for interiors that combine nature with artistry. This bonsai brings a refined, calming presence to living rooms, home offices, and bright hallways. The dense evergreen foliage creates a miniature landscape that feels both sculptural and alive, making it an excellent centrepiece on a console table, windowsill (south or west facing, but not harsh midday sun), or alongside complementary indoor plants such as Ficus ginseng, Zamioculcas, or Peace Lilies to soften the arrangement.Carmona retusa grows slowly, reaching an ultimate height and spread of around 25–35 cm depending on pruning. Regular trimming encourages compact growth and maintains its well-shaped canopy. As an evergreen bonsai, it offers year-round visual interest and contributes modestly to indoor air purification by increasing humidity and filtering light airborne impurities.Warm temperatures and stable environments are essential: this bonsai dislikes cold draughts and sudden temperature drops. When positioned correctly, it becomes a long-lived decorative feature that rewards gentle, consistent care with continuous beauty and occasional blooms.
