Philodendron scandens is a very common houseplant here in the UK. Its low maintenance requirements and tolerance to low light levels make it an excellent plant for beginners. Philodendrons thrive when kept in bright, indirect light, moist but free-draining soil and fed regularly throughout the summer months. They can be pretty cold-sensitive, so avoid windowsills and conservatories in winter months, or you may start to see black cold damage marks on the foliage. Its glossy green leaves and peach leaf sheaths make this a beautiful specimen.
