Houttuynia cordata 'Chameleon' (Pot Size 13cm) Chameleon plant sold by Boma Garden Centre

Houttuynia cordata ‘Chameleon’ is a striking variegated perennial with heart-shaped leaves splashed red, pink, yellow and cream on bright red stems. Small greenish-white flowers bloom May to late summer above the decorative foliage. This easy-care plant thrives in full sun to partial shade, preferring consistently moist soil and tolerating even boggy conditions with up to 2 inches of standing water. It is not drought tolerant and performs best in loamy, fertile, humus-rich soil at any pH.Grow in containers to manage its vigorous rhizomatous spread—roots can fragment and regrow from small pieces, making containment essential. The foliage is deciduous, dying back at the first frost, though roots remain dormant underground until spring regrowth.Ideal for moisture-loving garden positions, water gardens and pond margins, or as a striking potted specimen. Foliage is non-toxic and edible in Asian dishes.
