Geranium ‘Salmon Splash’ is one of those bedding plants that rewards a closer look. At first glance it delivers a generous head of vivid coral-orange-salmon flowers, bold and cheerful in any sunny spot. Look more closely and each individual bloom reveals a beautiful lighter freckling and veining that radiates out from the centre — giving the flower head a warmth and depth that plain-coloured geraniums simply cannot match. No two flower heads are identical, and this subtle variation keeps the display visually interesting from the first flush of spring right through to the first autumn frosts.The rich coral-orange tone of ‘Salmon Splash’ is particularly effective alongside deep greens and cool blues. In a container, combine it with trailing blue Lobelia, silver Helichrysum and white Bacopa for a fresh Mediterranean feel. For a warmer, more exuberant arrangement, pair it with deep orange Calibrachoa and golden Bidens ferulifolia. In a summer border it sits naturally alongside bronze fennel, Rudbeckia and the soft purple of Verbena bonariensis, carrying colour confidently from late spring through the warmest months of the year.
