Ceropegia woodii, commonly known as String of Hearts is a very popular houseplant due to its stylish, elegant foliage and easy care. Ceropegia woodii is a South African native which gives a good indication of the requirements they need for optimum growth- lots of sunlight and minimal water. Although a string of hearts is most commonly sought after for its attractive foliage, they also bare interesting tubular flowers along the stems. Ceropegia flowers vary in size and form but all exhibit the same characteristics- Tubular in form with 5 petals, usually joined at the tips. Ceropegia woodii makes a fantastic hanging plant for a well-lit room and doesn’t require much attention at all.
