Brunnera macrophylla ‘Betty Bowring’ is a delightful shade-loving perennial with pure white forget-me-not-like flowers that contrast beautifully with its heart-shaped, mid-green foliage. Flowering from April to June, this cultivar is notably floriferous and continuous, making it an excellent choice for woodland borders and shaded garden edges.Easy to grow and virtually maintenance-free, ‘Betty Bowring’ thrives in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil and is more sun-tolerant than other shade plants if kept adequately watered. The nectar-rich flowers attract early-flying bees and other pollinators, making it valuable for wildlife gardens. This reliable perennial is fully hardy throughout the UK and requires no pruning. Ideal for underplanting shrubs and roses, softening path edges, and mixing with shade-tolerant companions such as ferns and hostas.
